Sodium bicarbonate: NAHCO3= sodium bicarbonate

The product is known under different names: Sodium bicarbonate, Sodium bicarbonate, Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Baking soda in the United States, Sel de vichy in Belgium.  Sodium bicarbonate has been used since ancient times, in Egypt, a mineral called Natron, natural soda ash, was used, which was collected after evaporation in salt lakes.  (1863) It is thanks to the chemist Ernest Solvay who, following the work of Nicolas Leblanc (French), developed a simpler and more ecological process to manufacture sodium bicarbonate.
